Lewis structures, worked out

Pick a molecule and get the diagram, the electron count, the formal charges, the shape, the bond angle, the hybridization and the polarity verdict. Every number on this site is computed from the molecular formula when the page is built.

Elements and the periodic table

Every element has its own page: the electron configuration built by filling orbitals in energy order, the electrons in each shell, the valence count and the charge that follows from it.

What gets calculated

Lewis structures are not a matter of opinion - they fall out of arithmetic. Count the valence electrons the atoms bring, work out which atom is central, spend the electrons on bonds and lone pairs, and check the formal charges. This site runs that procedure for every molecule listed above, enumerates every bond arrangement the electron count allows, and scores them the way a chemistry course scores them.

That means the diagram, the bond angle and the polarity verdict on each page come from the same calculation a marker would run by hand, and an element's configuration comes from its atomic number rather than a lookup table. More on how it works.
